In a Different Light 2008 - Saturday 17th May, 6-11pm

Lanterns

The fourth in a series of magical evening events at the Pitt Rivers and Oxford University Museum of Natural History. Last years visitors found it a memorable experience as one person remarked that it was "Awesome- much better than excellent".

This year will include a lively fusion of music and dance by local and international performers. The Museum of Natural History will be filled with the energetic music of Horns of Plenty, along with traditional folk dances performed by the Albanian group Shpresa. The enchanting sound of the kora (African harp) played by Jali Fily Cissokho and the Eastern European tunes of Kismet will be heard in the Pitt Rivers, further enhancing the experience of exploring the ground floor collections by torchlight (free, timed-tickets available on the night).

Local beer, wine and soft drinks along with cake and savoury nibbles will be available on the night.

All ages are welcome but the event is best suited to children 12 and over.
If the Museums reach capacity visitor numbers will be restricted for health and safety reasons.
